A few months ago owner of local (Philadelphia) ShopRite supermarkets said he was planning to lay off 300 people because the tax has dropped down the sale of sodas more than expected. Anybody else finds the number absolutely ridiculous? Sounds much more like a handy excuse to leave the stores with skeleton crew to save money, while putting blame on somebody else.
