Thread regarding Anmed Health layoffs

AnMed Health lay off

To the affected employees, I sincerely hope that "where one door is closed another door (even better) is opened."

For the media to misconstrue what was given to them in a direct, clear, concise manner is wrong on so many levels. These employees were not fired. You don't encourage people you fire to apply for other jobs within the same organization. AnMed took every available measure to save as many jobs as possible. They have not had to lay off as many employees as neighbouring hospitals have due to the same circumstances.

We have to understand that these are lean times for the whole American economic system as we know it. Just because an organization has always been strong doesn't offer protection from the dire circumstances that are burdening our economy.

I, for one, think AnMed did a great job in being upfront and honest in relaying the news to the community.

Whaaat? People were blindsided a few weeks before Christmas! Anmed upper management still get 6 figure Christmas bonuses. If employees were of value, then bonuses would be given up before food on someone’s table! I disagree. Anmed is NOT the company I thought.

About 100 people were laid off and there is about 50 positions that are open that will not be filled. Total loss 150.

Good severance pay and they were trying to find alternative positions for people who are being laid off and placement services too.
