Creve Coeur-based SSM Health said it cut about 1 percent of its total workforce on Wednesday.
With more than 35,000 employees across four states, a 1 percent reduction is about 350 employees.
In a statement, the health system said the cuts were necessary to ensure "long-term sustainability
SSM took the care out of their name for a reason , they don"t care about the patient any more its the the dollar and how much it , they can get their greedy little hands on . So glad I am no longer associated with such a money hungry machine . Public beware staff to patient ratio is at a all time low after this last round of layoffs .
SSM DePaul should first layoff their non essential employees. There are many management employees that are doing absolutely nothing but walking the hallways and attending meetings.
St Clare didn't even offer a severance package to some employees that were laid off. SSM health is all about the $$$$$
