Thread regarding Bard layoffs

What divisions or departments have been hit or suspect to be hit soon?

What divisions or departments have been hit or suspect to be hit soon?

It's been pretty quiet at BPV and nothing really happened as far as layoffs and I haven't seen any notices of people leaving.

Anyone from the other divisions and departments want to share?

Its not as much as overlap at BMD as it is about the new GM and VP. The R&D director level was cut by 50%. A few Marketing and no QA were let go.

The new GM is not interested in process and more likely to ruin the current culture to one that stabs people in the back.

The VP is a director at best with no leadership abilities. Associates are praying to get laid off so that they get their options rather than walk away. Innovation will be few and far between with this duo. Oh well, back to work.

My guess and this is just an educated guess:

Departments with a lot of overlap, easily contracted out to third parties, or be handled by a central team will be the first to get layoffs.

HR, some marketing, IT which is already contracted out, website people (BAS has two, don't know about other divisions), and branding people are the highest risk.

Graphics, Finance, and Doc Control people are wild cards.

Quality, R&D, field assurance, and most product teams I bet are the safest, at least for now.

Here at BAS, our graphics team was let go with some marketing people. However, BAS is getting completely absorbed by BD so we saw that coming.
