Thread regarding AON layoffs

alight solution (previous Aon Hewitt) layoffs 3/15/2018

two coworkers pinged me their team have layoff. they are from different practice, which make me think the scale of layoff probably is not something small.

company just have massive re-org, effective 4/1, this round of layoff seems to be outcome of that layoff.

Huge rumor posted about layoffs in Aon India - Technology. Since I was part of the 2005 layoff of internal staff replaced by CSC drone units, I have to smile a bit at this one. BTW - the outsourcing deal then was a horrific mistake. The day after the ink was dry from Pat Ryan's signature, June Drewry sold her stock and quit and Greg Casagrande did the same. CIO and CTO gone. And for me, I went independent after that and some of my first clients were Aon executives who needed support and paid me to work. Wonderful revenge money.

Ok, so looks like the reorg news Town Hall for our technology group in next week on Wednesday. We should hear about it then. Interesting that it's that big an overhaul. But sounds like not too many laid off?

hmm, you didn't attend townhall meeting (3 of them)? The big sale target, and the new face/voice? at least in my practice (~80 folks), it's completely overhaul. I'd say this is biggest re-org I ever see in past 15 years. the other big one is when hewitt acquired exult.

Yes, that's right. I've heard of at least 2 people being laid off in technology domain. Though I did not hear of the big reorg as yet.
