Is it just me, or has Convergys started to implement layoffs every two to three months?
The latest one is 151 people being laid off from Rio Rancho call center. I wonder which location will be the lucky one in June/July?

Convergys will lay off 151 workers after filing a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notice to the state.
The WARN notice was filed Feb. 26 with a layoff date of April 30. By law, employers are required to provide notice 60 days in advance of covered plant closings and covered mass layoffs.
According to the Albuquerque Journal, the layoffs do not mean the company is shutting down its call center at 6090 Zenith Court NE in Rio Rancho, but rather that a change with "a single client program" will cause the layoffs of some full-time workers.
According to previous Business First reporting, Ohio-based Convergys was a recipient of $197,250 in Job Training Incentive Program funding in fiscal year 2017 in order to create 100 new jobs.
As the New Mexico state legislature came to a close last month, JTIP was approved to receive $9 million of the $12 million it requested for the upcoming fiscal year. To qualify for JTIP funds, companies must either create a product in New Mexico, or provide a non-retail service with 50 percent of the company's consumer or revenue base outside of the state.
In 2010, Convergys announced the layoff of 677 employees along with the closure of its Albuquerque call center it had been in for three years, according to previous Business First reporting. In 2015, Convergys placed a "Now Hiring" sign in front of its Rio Rancho call center and was set to hire up to 250 workers.
Verizon is set to close its Albuquerque call center by May 2019 while giving its employees the option to stay onboard and work from home. The cell phone carrier plans on closing six other call centers across the country.
Convergys could not immediately be reached for comment.
