Thread regarding Duke Energy. layoffs

Announcement by the end of the week

I work at a Duke Nclear Plant and today, after the voluntary packages were accepted and approved, an email came out that those who will receive the "involuntary" severance packages would be announced by the end of the week. Those affected will be basically done when told......no December 31st as we were made to believe. All over the plant today, people in many departments were packing up their desks, including myself, in anticipation of what's to come tomorrow or Thursday.

Made into a thread from @PLlAHdH-6Amsx for important info, so more people can see it.

Wow, casting stones...Roy is a proven, effective employee. I hate the atmosphere they are creating with these lay offs...everyone I see works tirelessly, long hours, always on-call and their spouses are often unable to work due to the demanding Duke schedule. I know you packing along with everyone else is scared. Good work should be rewarded but they seem to be overworking everyone to the breaking point and then carelessly letting some go or offering packages/not offering packages at their whim. No reguard for service, hours, certifications, loyalty,...all so they can pull a 27million salary. Please don't throw your people in the field under the bus. Thus is a tough and turbulent boat right now. Heartfelt sympathies for your current and forward going situation.

If more people like Roy Wallace would just retire there would be more room for more motivated younger and productive employees at the Catawba station. Sorry but old and unproductive is just old and unproductive.
