Southwire, Carrollton, GA just finished a lay-off on Friday, 02/15. Reportedly 100-200 people involved. Supposedly the company is reorganizing but if you put together other Southwire closings (WI distribution center, TRW, etc.) is it a reorganization or vendetta against all of the former Coleman Cable holdings? Funny how most of this affected were the old Coleman groups.

The company was so top heavy, this had to happen at some point. Being a former Coleman employee, I knew I would be laid off at some point, it's Southwire's M.O. They buy up a company, learn what they need to either grow their legacy business, shed off immediate waste, then slowly dissolve the company.
Only a few Coleman facilities are left. The Waukegan facility being the most cramped and oldest will soon be on the chopping block. Time is not on their side.
Not all director and above. 30% staff level.
I am hearing from a reliable source that it was 70 employees and all at Director level and above.
My son was leg to on Friday. Yes, he was at the management level and this crushed him. It's so sad and I hope everyone bounces back quickly.
It was a total of 146 employees who were relieved of duty at Southwire; mostly management.
