Thread regarding AON layoffs

Even more Aon PLC layoffs than previously announced

I guess 4,800 that was originally announced was not enough, now the number has gone up by nearly 13 percent to 5,400. Just when we thought we can relax, because over 4k were already laid off, they throw this at us.

When will it be enough? When will we be able to focus on doing our jobs once again instead on worrying if we will have one in following months?

Well, this is how the world works I guess. Rich gets richer and poor gets poorer. No amount of loyalty is enough for Aon or for that matter to any employer these days. Education is expensive, Technology changes every 1 year, people are forced to work like slaves so that they can at least provide 3 meals a day for their families. Automation is the new buzz word that is meant to replace every human work. God knows where we are heading towards.

After coming to the firm with excitement in creating a new business line it is very unsettling to know that there are more layoffs to come and everyone is so PC with wording calling it restructuring. Is unerving to go to a building everyday not knowing if they will send you home for good.
