Thread regarding ARM Holdings PLC layoffs

What's going on?

Have there been any more layoffs at ARM apart from Austin? Will there be more sometime soon?

I'm trying not to panic, but I'm hearing this might be just the beginning and that's not helping my anxiety or stress levels.

I would really appreciate any info on this...

How was a whole department wiped out. I have recently received offer from there. Does it mean they may not accept people in San Diego? Which department is wiped out??

Softbank should probably wake up & realise their star acquisition turned political under their nose - just go to Yammer (those who are still there) and let yourselves be waltzed into a world of hysterical lefties with nothing better to do than scream against the use of plastic spoons, the hunting of whales, the lack of "colour" in some offices (YC, how I miss you) & how seeing white people in company ads makes them nauseous (yes, LP), etc , work rarely comes up as a worthy topic. The company has no vision to speak of and is now reaping what it sowed, good luck to all.

Dipesh should consider polishing up his resume. Acquisitions will let him mask a failed strategy for a while but without key people in place that have experience executing, driving revenue and understanding market demand he’s going to be found out. Hima is not that person either as evidenced by how GE ended up.

It's global and not isolated to Austin. Many, many people impacted at all levels.
