KUDOS - To the comments on being UNION STRONG!!!
Let's Please STOP bashing our Union Brothers on this blog!!
This only makes us look weak and divisible. We vote as a Union, let's stick together like a Union!
Save your personal gripes and snide humor for another venue at another time. This is real life now; there are Many that are feeling very stressed out and take these comments to the point of disgust, and, if continued, will soon look, in some unfortunate way, to disassociate themselves as union members.
All of us are on uncharted territory on where our lives and this situation are going to take us next ...
UNION LEADERS - Please give us better Guidance on how to conduct ourselves as ONE.
Yes, we are all individuals, but we must understand how our individual actions can and will affect/effect everyone in Local 320. I cannot comprehend the rationale of yelling vulgar remarks at the vehicles of Shift Supervisors, etc, as they go through the gates; it actually wants to make Me disassociate from you!! What kind of character are we displaying by doing this? We are portraying ourselves as barbaric and we are showing unnecessary resentment towards those that want nothing else but to get us back in there with them. I even know of one hurtful and disparaging comment that was made about one supervisor's child. Really?
Is this the strategy endorsed by the IBEW??
Just a thought - What would the temperament of both the Union Members and management be if we gave them a nod and welcomed them through the gate? I believe it would become one of appreciation and compassion, one that would only fortify the common DNE frustration toward the decision makers in Houston.
BLOG - Please also stop the crude remarks towards the members of the admin building and even the members coming up here from Houston. They are only trying to fulfill the directives that are coming from somewhere over their heads. No matter how "You" feel about this, "Our" negative remarks will only affirm the contention that we are not worth what we are asking for.
Again, please save Your personal gripes and snide humor for another time.
CONTRACT - You had the right to cast a vote as a Yes or No to ratify the contract, and nobody should condemn you for voting in either direction; that was your right. The majority choice, however, was to turn down the proposal that was offered. Our duty as Brothers is to continue to stand together and to Not Enter Dynegy Property until we decide as a Union which direction to go next.
Our duty as Brothers is to Stop the bashing!
For the benefit of all, Can WE work on reinventing ourselves to becoming even more UNION STRONG!!!
And, from this point on, let's vow to using this blog for only positive discourse and unifying remarks ...
