The reset of 2014 might be very interesting. I am not implying that 2014 will bring layoffs, I am merely curious to see how Merck will be handling the acquisition. I can already see some 'synergies' here as they try to consolidate finance, HR and other functions. Idenix shareholders might have benefited, but workers will now have to worry about redundancies and potential layoffs.
