Thread regarding SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. layoffs

What a difference in the park SeaWorld....

Upper management who made a statement during our last ECM that if the second quarter did well, and we all push guest courtesy and sales, we would get raise just stopped speaking.

Vice Presidents sitting in desks not communicating to thier department, afraid to speak to front line leadership about what happened and where the future is taking us. Why did SeaWorld hire VP’s who are afraid to lead in a time of crisis?

Park managers are just quiet saying nothing. The same park managers who tell is “stop complaining, your lucky you have a job. Maybe next time you won’t”. This is statement is the new culture in SeaWorld Orlando. This statement has been used many times now and is the new norm.

Supervisors/Assistant Supervisors all in fear of a hourly restructure, and they have no trust in and upper managment. They just come to work and their pride and happiness just drained. They are afraid to speak they might get restructured.

This is what happens when fear and distrust sets in with all levels of leadership. The guests, team memebers, and the animals suffer. Three things upper managment said they care about, but in a time of crisis they care only about themselves. When will this chaos stop?

Respect, trust, motivation is all gone. Fear is now the motivating force.

Staff has stopped calling it SeaWorld, they called it FearWorld.

Employees were told by park leadership to stop reminiscing about the past (the good days when people were proud to work there) and if you can't be positive about the company's new direction, then they're positive they will "help" you leave.

I agree with the main post. None of the new senior leaders and leaders in the park care. I think it’s time to go out on social media and have the voices of real SeaWorld employees speak out on how we really feel about how they called us into work to lay us off. How management is striking fear into the leaders that are left. Our so called Senior Leaders, and Leaders are doing nothing. Maybe it’s time the public knew how we are suffering. SeaWorld doesn’t want to listen us, just lie to us. It’s time we share all the horror stories of how they really laid us off. If you got laid off too, or lost a good friend in the layoff, it’s time we show social media the real SeaWorld.

It's probably because their starting to realize that this company is in trouble, how does a company even get the green light to build a park in the Middle East? Honestly no company is a saint but when you throw the Middle East in the picture, all I see is no transparency and greed!
