Folks - I get that people are worried. It sucks. I feel it too. However, let’s all stop waiting for the hammer to fall and take matters into our own hands. If you haven’t updated your resume, do it now. Make sure your LinkedIn profile is also up to date. Networking is your friend. Stop waiting to be thrown aside and remember that no one in corporate America cares about you except for you. Time to remember that you have more power in this situation than you think. Stop cowering and take control of what you can.
Yes. I was laid off 2 weeks before Christmas years ago. They are heartless.
If you're this worried, that you'd ask if you're "safe" for one week, I strongly suggest taking matters into your own hands and start applying externally. They can't fire you if you don't work there.
