@wil - Did you even work here pre-COVID? Or are you one of the recent frauds that they've hired?
Because no we did not work 5 days in office before COVID. My team did 4 days since at least 2016, many groups in my location only did 3 days. On top of that manager discretion was allowed for ad hoc needs/holidays/etc. No childish tracking involved.
But go ahead and continue to act like this is not a step backwards.
Transitioning from a three-day in-office schedule to four days brings its own set of challenges. Research has shown that while more time in the office can enhance collaboration and team dynamics, it can also lead to increased stress and burnout for some employees. The real purpose behind this shift seems to be about deliberately fostering an environment where employees may choose to leave the firm on their own. In other words, this move has little to do with creating an Agile environment and is more focused on trimming the workforce under the guise of promoting in-person collaboration.
And what about those managers that live close to an office but are “work from home” or “remote”? Will they also be required to return to the office 4 days a week? (I know, they won’t be).
Wonder if there will be any penalty for the coffee badging crowd? I see people leave the office sometimes at 9 AM. And there is no penalty for doing so currently.
If I need to be here and be miserable, everyone else should be too!
(Yeah, I know……go ahead and down vote).
Again folks, it is all an attempt to pressure you into quitting. It’s a way to chase people out in the US and UK so RV and his mugwumps don’t have to pay. And when they hit their goals, like a miricle they will proclaim that WFH is allowed again with Flex to help work life balance. Making it appear that they are so magnanamous when they are truly malignant. It’s apparent that 4 days really means 5 if you want to be safe for a time and head off any conflicts that are certain with dashboards and the doofuses in HR. What a sad , sorry , childish and sick environment. Stay strong folks! This too shall pass…
This is d-mb. They let my group WFH 2 days a week starting in 2018 since there was no need for us to be there since our staff is no longer on site and we mostly deal with people across the globe.
We were told everyone at Pershing, not just managers returning to office 4 days beginning Jan
I agree COVID is over but the world has changed. The work environment has changed. Work life balance is no longer a talking point it’s a reality and BNY is sc--wing all of us over. What a great company. Layoffs constantly, being forced to rate people below to meet a quota when they don’t deserve it, track everyone to make sure they are in when they are supposed to be, sh-t raises, no promotions, no opportunities, no fu--ing future. I hate this goddam place but the job market su-ks so we have no choice but to stay on the fu-k train to nowhere.
Agile designation only. Wonder when agile flex folks will be asked to come in three days? It's also really messed up that so many managing directors in engineering are 100% based at home.
How long until 4 for everyone else, and then 5 for everyone?
Emails were sent directly to those impacted. Any manager with at least 1 direct report
Does this apply to engineering managers classified as agile flex?
Where was this announced?
I can’t stand driving in anymore especially to go into a depressing office they are shutting down. The commute is terrible. Traffic has gotten so bad compared to 2018/ 2019.
Slowly reintroducing.....will apply to all by Summer.
Just saw this. I don’t know how much more I can take! Yes I used to work 5 days a week in the office, but that office got shut & created a very long & costly commute. Adding another day is the cherry on the sh*t cake!
This is complete BS!
