@FapRK0q-3bnm LOL! Ok, Minardi we'll just take your word on that. #wholefoodsmarket #TeamWFM

FapRK0q-3bnm: Ah, you must be from the Crisis Team. First, if you're going to make an assertion like that, please provide the link with the actual investigation results -- the statistics. But also get real! You can't tell the cop your "average speed" was 40 mph because most of the time you were doing 25 but you occasionally gunned it to 60 or 70 MPH. I've dealt with inspectors and found that if anything, they tend to be highly forgiving of occasional errors as long as they see that overall accuracy is within the legal limit. However when they sense an ATTITUDE problem, find evidence of intentional overcharges or even systematic errors that result in significant overcharging that's when they get tough. It's laughable that you are going public with the excuse that it's not a big deal to rip off a whole bunch of customers because management was so inept that they couldn't get the weights right.
@FapRK0q-2hyw Very well said. WFM will never be able to compete with Trader Joe's, that's just a fact. We have destroyed our reputation, and will never be able to recover from that. Our management is an absolute joke. #wholefoodsmarket
1rko, I also used to think that the executives had somehow strayed from their roots. However in the course of operating a business it's clear that the current mode of behavior is what was in their hearts the entire time. First major issue was bringing in Walter and AC etc instead of promoting "organically" from within. Then they went around gobbling up competitors until the Wild Oats acquisition was reversed by a Federal court. Our execs had the chutzpah to tell the judge that natural and organic was nothing special and that Wild Oats and WFM were "just grocery stores." Hmmmm. Then there was the decision to immediately go national/global regardless of the inefficiencies of doing that, and the decision to not properly integrate the regions (and their various operating practices, pricing ideas and technologies) into one cohesive company. All of that wasn't just short-sighted, it robbed from the future to make the results at that time look better. No, John and his buddies ARE in charge, they ARE actively choosing marketing and PR over substance and their ineptitude has turned what should have been speed bumps into craters. There is only one prime directive now: CASH OUT and retire. Talk loud and proud about some BS "turnaround" and whine about being misunderstood while resisting any kind of true reform. Instead, they've doubled down on the same crew of buffoons (including themselves) who got us into this mess. From how I see it they've gone into a totally defensive posture, surrounded themselves with consultants and PR flaks and now seem to be just trying (with this $1 billion dollar borrowing binge) to prop up the stock ONE MORE TIME so they can pay off their loyal henchmen (and women) and cash out. More locations, more press releases, more marketing, more fake "excitement" while the foundation continues to sink. I predict IT WON'T WORK. I expect that within a couple of years one or more top execs will leave and we may even have investors clamoring for big changes at the board and in how the company is fundamentally organized. Meanwhile the slap-dash growth continues (albeit at a slightly slower pace) along with the totally unproven 365 concept that is a result of their obsession with TJs. What they don't seem to get is that TJs can outflank them with ease because people freakin' LOVE Trader Joe's and its management doesn't use any gimmicky promotions where the price of everything goes up and down every few days. They just feature certain products in their little flyer and endcaps efficiently. No mountains of price tags and promo tags with all the costs and misunderstandings and confusion. They can open their stores anywhere they like in just a few weeks. No one except our execs believes that a bunch of proven idiots (our leadership) that can't properly reorganize and run their current business can succeed at starting a new one.
Apparently Minardi didn't consult with the crises team. #wholefoodsmarket #TeamWFM
Slap on the wrist for this money making region. I honestly don't know how these fools have lasted this long. John and Walter you need to find your roots again and get rid of these weeds, Christina and her hoodlums, that have ruined the NE. Think this time u need to use a strong pesticide.
So true. This company is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Those of us who are posting know the TRUTH. Karma will get them. Christina, have you seen the show Orange is the New Black? I think you would look lovely in orange.
Christina gets rewarded for this. Her wife get's a new promotion. The shareholders are suing the corporation over this. What a joke. ZERO accountability. #wholefoodsmarket #TeamWFM
Another brilliant Minardi move. Thanks Christina! #wholefoodsmarket
Think of it as a very expensive traffic ticket. So where is the accountability? What happened to "The buck stops here?" Crickets... The leadership either knew or SHOULD HAVE KNOWN because that's why they make these ridiculous salaries/benefits/bonuses/option packages. The NY authorities are smart. They waited until about a year had passed after the approx $850k settlement for similar charges out in California. One year is about how long it takes for bad management to forget about everything and/or sweep it under the rug...But because state inspectors talk to each other all the time, no doubt they will be out in force all over the place this summer testing and taring.

It was on the news but you can just google it
is there a link to this story?
I bet we wont see the competitive pricing for a while now..
Certainly not a fine. I guess we paid them to lay off of us. This is bad press to say the least. Buying our way out. Way to go crisis team.
Well, well, well Christina what do you say now? How can you damage control this? Give up and go back to the bakery to make your dough! LOL
