I think this has to do with metrics. Upper management is getting wise to what work is being performed and it what cost. You might be paving your own path giving them the detailed information. It’s either gonna save you or it’s gonna hurt you.

We are now being asked to track work in a more detailed way. What does that say?

Anyone who doesn’t think the bank is looking to reduce the of footprint that we hold for employees is clueless. Look around, if you’re not retail are you really in the office 3 days a week? The answer is NO.

So why keep millions of sq. ft. of space? People will be sharing cubes for when they drop in. There will be no personalization of your workspace, all your tchotchkes, keep them at home. The RTO failed massively and now the Bank has to figure out how to make it work. Part of figuring it out is reducing the amount of space.

Just leave a little. Like a typical bonus

Typically they don't do layoffs in the month after a quarter-end. Maybe on the sales side. But not in operations, credit, accounting, reporting, TOS, usually there is lots of work being done and a sudden layoff would mess things up. That is why November layoffs are more common than October layoffs.

BTW I know nothing and have heard no rumors about layoffs. Just wanted to contrast people saying October layoffs are common.

Previous poster stated layoffs are the week of the last paycheck of the month, they were correct each time. So that would be the 27th.

October and November are always RIF and Re-org months.

Clearly the worst kept secret - middle management all over is talking about upcoming layoffs in October starting next week. If you didn't know, I doubt you work at the bank or are completely clueless because you working from home instead of gathering intel at the office water cooler
