Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

People who retire here

I admire people who tell me they’ve been here for over 20 years. Wow. I can’t even imagine working here for so long. How did some manage that?
I can barely stop myself from quitting until I have found another job, and I have only been here for a little over two years. It will be that this used to be a much different company, because in conditions like these I don't know who would want to stay until retirement, even if their job is very safe.

I walked out Saturday after almost 5 years. I transferred to current club last July. I was at the club over a month before I introduced myself to the G.M.(thought he was just an associate cause he always stocks HBA.
The lead of my area never helped us DO anything but would pitch a Bi--h if anything was not perfect.
1 decent manager the rest were misfits.
Glad to be out of there.

I made 31, loved my last position in recg. office. But so glad I took severance and left. Used 401-k until Social Security kicked in.
I shop at my club, once a month. After 2 years, there has been tremendous turnover. I wanted to laugh when I was asked to show membership card, the other day.
Do your best, forget the rest, unless they endanger your employment.

So much has changed since I started over 30 years ago and I don't want to really start over, only have a few years left but for all you folks out there that has very little time in Get the F*** Out Now and yes I am a manager. At one time we rewarded associates on there performance and no matter what the du–b as––s at Home Office think there are better workers out there than others and they deserve to be compensated more than a mere 2% raise every year along with the worthless ones. Have you noticed how the useless one are the ones that find the simplest reason to call in but yet they are still going to get the same raise as the ones that never miss. Simple solution would be to start reducing there quarterly bonus and distributing it to the associates who miss no work. If you do not have a problem being treated like the worthless than you are one of the worthless ones. If this nonsense happened 20 years ago I would not even be on here posting because my a–s would of left the company. Think about this it will take about 4 years now for you pay to increase a dollar or a little more so for all you that was bumped to 15 you will be making around 16 or a little more in 4 years and still struggling because that's not going to cover the cost of living increase. Now if you living on government assistance you will not care. By the way back in my younger days it was embarrassing if you had to be on any kind of handouts but it seems todays younger generations kind of expect that. Ive never seen so many people being so open about being of welfare.

We have a manager and his mini me (MIT) that walk around all day with their hands in their pockets. They are a joke. Sure feel sorry for the club that gets that oxygen thief. Management has gone down hill the last few years.

I have worked for Sam's for 30 yrs. I loved my job until transferring and the last 6 months has been pure he–l. The managers are worthless and lazy. This whole mentality of managers and teamlead delegating instead up rolling up their shirtsleeves and working along side of us when we are so shorthanded is aweful. I constantly feel like whatever I do is not good enough. I have never felt like this before this club.
