2025 Layoffs in Q3

IT, Finance and Commercial are expected to layoff ~300 people in 2 waves starting with IT in early Q3 2025. A majority of operational support for IT will be moved to outsourced providers. Major IT restructuring will be done using the “spans and layers” concept suggested by BCG to reduce management layers.

@4pa HR is definitely reading these comments. If you notice the pattern, every time someone mentions them being bullies, mistreating our former colleague- cancer patient, or other harmful, bullying behavior like controlling the narratives of investigations, the reactions start mysteriously decreasing or getting dislikes.

You obviously don't have to worry, or else you're in the loop with inside information. Can we just all get along? Maybe, but consider this analogy. You married the one person that has proved to be reliable, trustworthy, ethical, great work ethic, and you have loved them the moment you met. You married, you complement each other completely. You both know at the end of the day, you will be together just like every night before. Together you have both grown and prospered. You have built a life, have children, everything is as good as it gets. Then, a few weeks ago, the love of your life tells you that they don't need you anymore and want a divorce. That's it, no explanation, not a care for the years of hard work. That's it, nothing else except wait for the paperwork to show up. What are you feeling now? It's what every employee that thought CPChem would be the last to betray their relationship. Do you get it now? Maybe you could communicate it better.

@57f If you want help, the antics of the unscrupulous management team need to be brought to light. HR HBIC and a certain manufacturing VP are an embarrassment to the company and the board should really take a close look at the their fearless leadership before they agree to cut the jobs of hard working people. And I do mean fearless because their jobs are not in jeopardy.

@57f you are missing the point. Those things they are venting about are likely why you are saying let’s pull together and help each other!

Maybe just maybe the board gets wind of some of these items then they do the best thing that could likely help us all.

I’m sure you can tell that maybe just maybe it’s upper management saying all the people losing their (or loosing) jobs are d-mb etc. Misspelling words on purpose, misleading, misdirecting. Pretty easy to see what they are doing.
That tells me probably all the “venting” has them spooked someone will look into what’s been going on.

@4yb its terrible some of us will loose their jobs but i am getting tired to hear the same comments: pickleball, HR romance stories, outsourcing. Let’s hear about what we can do, how can we help each other and what options do we have that we have not heard yet. Busting people's chops helps vent and only vent.

The craziness that an IT team on the chopping block would also help the same company stop all their potential shenanigans and mismanagement come to light is astounding.

Of course HR and management put out the cease and desist order. Usually what happens when you hit close to home.

@4qr IT Security is indeed tracking CPChem assets such as cell phones, Laptops, browser activities of each. If you have gone to this site using one of those assets, your already on the list.

@42g You do realize that it's 100% her idea to outsource, offshore and layoff, right. She and IT are the test case for the rest of the company. If she succeeds, she's the new CEO. If she fails, nothing will happen. Win win, except for those who have been loyal to the company.

Hi everyone, hope yall are well.
While fighting cancer, HR at Chevron Phillips harassed me instead of helping me. They mismanaged my leave, failed to track my hours correctly, and demanded I pay back $13,000. They scheduled stressful meetings right before surgery and even contacted me for paperwork while I was in the ICU.

Reading others’ experiences now, I realize this wasn’t just me — it’s a toxic pattern. No one battling for their life should also have to battle their employer. This is why even in such bad condition I dragged my a-s to the office to resign. Unfortunately really, because before that I felt so committed and dedicated to CPChem.

@4nx Oh yes, two of the original HR bullies have finally retired, but not before they trained a new crop of bullies to take their place. And a few years ago, they even brought back another ignorant bully from the past. She’s here in Orange with us now, but I can tell she’s not happy…

They need to be more concerned with reversing course of the company than worrying what gets said on the internet. People are losing their jobs and they want to worry about advising people not to comment on here?
