Thread regarding Nationwide (Insurance and Financial Services) layoffs

Next round?

We know there'll be more cuts in the first half of the year, has there been any news on when it's going to happen?

Definitely don't believe it. Clean up the resume and have it ready to go JUST in case.

Yep, guess we will see. We got a denial from our director that there would be any layoffs in our area(s), however I have zero faith in such assurances. We have seen layoffs in departments closely touching ours so why would we be immune? So easy to say “no layoffs here” now and then backpedal it later. It’s just the sort of thing I would expect to hear to keep people in their seats until they are ready to let some of us go. NW is no worse than other companies and is in many ways one of the best, but I have no reason to believe that they would be deliberately transparent about this, allowing the most experienced employees to find new jobs in advance. That would complicate their plans.

That I know of-6 managers laid off, 22 out of 55 OYS managers laid off and ALL AD positions dropped.

Casualty claims got an email today that they will no longer have AD’s and they will only have directors reporting to the AVP. They will have 10 directors up from 6 but there are 9 AD’s that are currently reporting to Directors and the AVP.
