Taking out some interesting groups in Cisco - despite the commentary on cloud being a priority, the restructuring is hitting that group quite hard.

be glad 2 be impacted this LR no telling where US job market will be in 12-24 months good time 2 find job now market is still hot
it happens on a yearly basis, this is part of the business model ... .take it or leave it!!
which site has most impacted ?
I was in IT. Found out the news yesterday as many others did too. IMO this has everything to do with purging the old guard as was the last LR about 8-10 months ago. I think this is obviously a sign towards their FY20 cloud plans. Support staff more than likely will feel the brunt of this as it transitions to a managed service of a 3rd party. Good luck out there!
Which datacenter bu?
Datacenter BU too got affected.
I was impacted in standalone data enter.
Higher grade 45+
Let the Hunger Games begin!
You have till sept 15 as a Cisco employee, to look for a job.
I am in CX and was impacted. I was a 9 block last year but now it is time to go. Looking forward to next advanture!
how many months do you get to find a new job, after the notification ?
“Number 1 in cloud-cuckooland”more like it.
I remember the internal messaging at Cisco that 'we are number one in cloud'. Seeing as the majority of cloud providers where outsourcing their own server designs / builds to lowest cost / non-cisco alternatives it was always utter marketing bs.
Frankly the cull was foretold 4 years ago.... Anyone still believing that Cisco Cloud was a longterm employment option was utterly deluded..
“All of them”. That would indeed be a good start.
I heard some VP's were affected - Any names?
All of them
Have heard from friends in IT as well as Product Management and Marketing in traditional networking solutions. Hasn't been a big one, it seems, but nevertheless the morale isn't good. PS: I am not with Cisco anymore. Had I stayed I'd been laid off, no doubt, despite being a good performer I had all the characteristics of a top target: higher grade, 15 years of service, over 45. It took me 2 years to get back to the same compensation level, but I now do within a promising startup. Hence ex-colleagues now regularly hit me up when they are layoff pockets, and we have hired several. It's really not a bad time to be in the market, it was far worse when I left in 2017.
which BU is impacted?
