Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Base salary based off last year's performance.

The base salary increase will be set based off of last year's performance. Anyone who was over 100% last year will have a higher percentage increase

70% of your total revenue per year will be made up of a base salary. 30% will be made up of a new commission mix of experience and sales as a group in the store.

Surveys will be a majority of the commission. Revenue enhancing items will also be a part of the commission such as premium unlimited plans Insurance etc

Corporate retail stores will be a please for people to pick up items that they placed online. take a look at demo items and then place orders in the store with a machine preferably and a-person secondarily.

the goal is to have most full-time people at a 32-hour model the 32 hour a week employees will receive full benefits.

The company wants to cut headcount hours in every location.

Expect many store hours never to return to what they were.

District management will now have a mix of corporate and indirect source.

look for general managers having two or three stores under their purview with only two permanent managers per location.

Some mall locations will never reopen

some employees will receive a choice of new careers to pick from including customer service telesales etc.

Once again, the correct but incomplete info.
“30%” NOT “70%” will go into one’s salary.

I think the big concern is the RIS survey, a majority of people that still go to stores are over demanding and won't embrace simple technology and get frustrated very easily. That is only part of it, I could write a book on what happens everyday in these stores. The executive director of NYm said retail will never be the same. Don't opt for the part time option because when you are considered a part time employee ,the employee status is decreased, and that's with whatever how they spin it. The mantra from the company is life / work quality of life from surveys? Your job now is to show the people that still goes to stores show them to do there purchases from home in a nice way during a pandemic. Good luck!

In our meeting it was 30 percent to your base and the rest would be achieved through ris sales dollars and new lines. Max overachiever payout is 5 percent around 1000 dollars. Sad day for high performers. Time to find a new job.

The at risk is so small each month that even with a 1.4 which will be considered the new 2.0 the most you can make is 1200. Most commission payout projections using the new formula average 600-900 dollars each month. It will become one lazy shhht show around the store.

Once upon a time, there was a whiny rep who could. That whiny rep did say, why did my check decay? To which management said, trinkets abound what value give ye to those whose souls you have found? The rep did reply, why I sold those souls trinkets of glee, be it the superfluous fodder is not for me. The manager did say, matters much that which we do, even though our souls we eschew.

Former employee been gone over a year but at a glance this doesn’t look terrible.

With Commission pay taxes at 35% you will take home very similar amount if 80% of annual pay in put into hourly rate. If you made $15 hour plus avg $2800 in commission your annual take home after tax is about $45,000 if they pay an hourly rate that is 80% you would be around $25/hr. Your monthly take home would go from $3770 to $3280 so about $500 less. With any bonus/team commission you should be fine with a lot less stress.

Only thing I dont see is more than a $10 - 12 (every part of the country is different) raise. Verizon is not going to pay anyone more than what base with commission is now. So if you made 75k a year your taking a pay cut period. They arent going to pay you 40 dollars an hour don't care what your performance was last year.
