How long before we'll be able to see if this 'blockbuster movies on HBO Max' stunt is going to work and bring in enough new subscribers to justify doing it? I have a feeling that if it doesn't happen within the first month its not going to happen, period. We are risking ruining another brand we acquired the longer we stick to it.

Warner Bros.’ Wonder Woman 1984 in its third weekend continued to emulate the legs of a horror movie, down -45% with $3M at 2,218 theaters and a running B.O. of $32.6M. It’s quite clear this movie isn’t going to make the money that Tenet did stateside at $58M and we knew that all along as 60% of all movie theaters are shutdown, including No. 2 chain Regal (Pennsylvania and Colorado reopened this past weekend I heard). Adding further insult to injury: I hear that after a dismal holiday period some movie theaters have decided to close down, and are skipping paying Warners on WW1984; that’s how bad things are. The studio, which normally doesn’t need to fight for its rental dollars, will need to do so now.

Congrats to ATT for destroying the 100 year old, most reputable production company in Hollywood...What an absolute joke ATT is! HBO Max was desperate is the worst streaming service offered!
F- Kilar/Stanky will move on with their millions, leaving thousands of people unemployed, broken, and will have ruined every cultivated relationship in Hollywood! Can’t wait to hear more corporate Kilar speak/vomit like we all need to “leaning into it” or “ Warmer Media is all about telling good stories”! These folks need to stick to cell phones!
Not until the end of the year. The press is going to have analyze the Max numbers compare it to what the films would have taken in at the box office.
It'll be a huge loss - there's no way $15/month (or free!) subscriptions cover all the individual $10+ tickets they would have sold - but they'll sell it as a success (duh). This may buy Stankey another year because he'll have covid as excuse for his failure.
WW84 was worse than most of the low budget movies on Netflix, shockingly bad
Hope this last string of movies are worth a damn. The talent is bailing already and jumping to Sony pictures.
All depends on if there’s enough interest in the movies we’re releasing. Evidently the first release did not help that cause much.
Since AT&T is running it then you can guess the outcome.
i agree on watching from home...saw more holiday movies then i ever would have going to the movies
If you can't boost subscribers in a Covid crisis where people stay at home then you have no chance.
