@1fhj It's worse than just slow... this post on another forum today really sums up many customers' frustrating experiences with Sears's sites. I've had the same problems.

" It seems that Sears/Kmart pretty much try as hard as possible to frustrate people who try to buy on their sites. Often when I'm searching for something to buy (mostly with points, of course), I run into the captcha page. I'm just a real person browsing the site honestly looking for something to buy, and I've never seen anything like that from any other eCommerce site. Sometimes their search pages are sloooow to load, and sometimes they will start consuming a lot of CPU (i7 quad with 16GB on FIOS internet).

In addition it is nearly impossible to craft a search to find out what items are available for you. I try to get a list of item that are supposedly available based on my ZIP Code, but many times clicking on a specific item will tell me that it is not available for shipping or withing 50 miles. Even crazier is when you sort the list by price only to find that 3 pages into the list, after the $20 items, you find some random $5 items.

I would have thought that by 2017 the kinks and pitfalls of running an eCommerce site would be well understood and solved. In addition to big people such as Amazon, etc. thousands of little people manage to make reasonable sites. I guess that Sears/Kmart is more complex than many, but if I were looking to spend real money, I suspect that I would have given up on Sears/Kmart long ago since their prices, shipping, etc. are no better than other sites, but the Sears/Kmart sites themselves is quite frustrating to use. Anyone possessing an ounce of business acumen recognizes that Eddie's management of SHLD has been a monumental failure. However, Eddie's sycophants never cease trying to polish the t(_)rd.

By the time Eddie bought the company it was too late to take over HD or Lowes, super K’s had failed competing with Walmart - what should he have done? He had to build an internet business from scratch (remember the failure that was bluelight.com ?) and still unlock value for investors? What was the genius move he missed?

Remodeling stores? Seriously? That was the key? You really are stupid aren’t you?

It would seem that the Eddie apologists posting here are blind to the possibility that if Eddie had been more astute in turning SHLD around, this headline could have been about SHLD!

Wal-Mart's stock jumps toward record high after profit and sales beat, raised outlook

Eddie DID attempt to be competitive. He dumped non performing assets to preserve the core business and its worked. He disagrees with the concept of Sears 2.0 (pissing away all the money on remodels) and he was right Sears Canada failed and JCP almost failed and they spent billions remodeling. He’s tried to emphasize service and improve the web business.

I actually agree with the poster saying Eddie didn't start this mess. Also Think about it...who else would be stubborn enough to keep this company alive for as long as he has? The issues have been there for years before he took over. You can't really blame him for those. Granted, he did nothing to fix the problems either. Still, the company was spiraling out of control years before he got his hands on it. It's unfortunate that he didn't really do anything to fix it but at least it still exists and you can continue to claim your paychecks.

Yea I must be ignorant if you say I am right because you are obviously super intelligent. I can't stop laughing. I don't love Eddie, but he hasn't done anything wrong. Stop the drama.

Jgk, you are either a troll or completely ignorant. If eddie would have attempted to be competitive when he took over, this could be a different story today. Look at the headlines....our society is full of wealthy white men who do what they want to whoever they want, with no fear of justice. Just like your beloved eddie.

@Itoo. No we wouldn't have been. We haven't been the top store since 1989 or so. That is dated thinking. The issues we have date back to the 80s. Don't make Eddie the scape goat for the problems with our company. Those of us who don't support our company but take a paycheck aren't much better.

@1woz - "If he hadnt come along in 2005, we might not still be around now." If he hadn't come along in 2005 we might have been the top performing department store now.

Yeah I'm sure it was Eddie a few of his cronies that bought up some stock to artificially inflate the price to make it look better. Probably will then short sell it in a day or two.

yea I have read on Seaking Alpha that this will go down in history and will be studied in schools for years on how Eddie has handled this tear down of this company and the possible legal battles he will have once he takes this company for all it has.
