Thread regarding IBM layoffs

I was told I was Incompetent

So I worked there for 10 years and was told that I was incompetent.

I laughed at the termination hearing and said wow what does that make IBM look like...

Either the statement is a lie or it took IBM 10 years to figure out I had no idea what I was doing.

They called me back and later realized that what I knew was key to keeping a big contract rolling so I started back as a contractor.

One regular employee remains out of 22 on the team I worked with when I originally started.

One of the 21 that was canned terminated his life just before the very last day. IBM is going down. Warren B. sold off his big chunk.

I sold all my stock at the peak three years after my termination and it has not regained to that high point since.

How you handle the exit will define you so do not let hate stand in the way of your clear vision. Take control of your life and plan now to make the change a positive difference.

IBM is a machine.... an itty bitty machine.

IBM fires anyone regardless of age. My team of 30 was mostly millennials and we all got axed. Nearly all of us were acquisitions and then IBM fumbled to offload the specialized support we provided our to our legacy user-base.

I'm a CISSP with experience in cloud and enterprise virtualization at scale. Exactly the person you'd want in IBM Security and yet IBM thought I should retrain as a full stack dev.

IBM is a dumpster fire.
