I'm talking about this year. Weren't there people who were saying we'll see huge layoffs before the start of next year? Was that rumor debunked?

Analytics isn’t a part of the new offerings for NA once our dear new leader took over, so sadly this was inevitable for them. AMS will be next to go.

Analytics. Numerous layoffs in 3Q and 4Q. Both US and Canada.
75 of us were given our 90 days notice the first week of this month in the Walgreens service group. About 1/3 of the service techs. My guess is they believe 1/3 of the service calls will disappear by then.

Actually HW sales were hit too. 60% cuts out of Industry Power and DASD Sales. Looks like IBM has decided knowing industry solutions was just another IBMVP pipe dream. If you take a step back and look at the strategy it’s all about cloud and staffing for cloud solutions. That means downsizing the current head count incredibly aggressively. Compare AWS/Microsoft/google staffing models to the current IBM NA or Europe staffing model, and you can see IBM has to down size aggressively to be comparable. The combining of Services into one organization was a dead give away. IBM plans to spin off the lower margin parts of Services Off as soon as someone will take them. We are in the end game of the restructuring now. Ginni is just doing the dirty work for the new CEO before she exits stage left
