Did you receive the email from HR on it? It’s ridiculous to ask for, at least, 30 days for VP-level or above.

BNY employee here. We've had this for 2 years. Company doesn't really enforce it though. HR just shrugs because, in America, you aren't an indentured servant. Worst that will happen is that you aren't considered for rehire and you lose RSUs. Big whoop.
india has always had long notice periods and is enforced between companies. I've had accepted offers from countless Indian employees only for them to use their notice period as a bargaining chip with other companies and then they never showed up on day one.
This changes would affect employees that have RSUs. If you don’t give them min required number of lead time you will be foregoing unvested ones and would have to pay back previous year rsus.
for last 3 years at least there have been ongoing headcount reduction efforts. No concern for business continuity or risks as they pulled teams apart and removed people with long term knowledge. to be replaced by cheaper headcount and less backgroud. Now there is concern for business continuity? Notice periiod limited to the US employees. I guess India/Phil not impacted or does this mean they can give lessthan 30 days notice? Dont think this is legal in at will US states. At this point what have you got to lose if you give 2 weeks notice, unless you have alot of PTO.
Call the union.
It will be effective 6/1/25.
So at worst, barring getting terminated, it means I get another month of pay instead of the usual 2-week notice?
unless it's a contract which it isn't, just a policy change, they have no legal recourse. What, are they going to give me a bad reference? If I quit I would already be forfeiting any unvested RSRs so aside from no longer being able to work at WF, what am I loosing? They have no problem laying people off and walking them out with no notice (yes, I understand the non work notice period). What does that do for business continuity. The nerve of our sr. executives. talk about adding insult to injury.
This is a nothingburger in some states. The policy may be similar to competitors’?
Is there a policy? How would this be enforced.
They are asking for 60 days for an Executive Director. If I find an offer better my next employer must wait??? How is this even legal in an At-will State.
