Is everyone just guessing at this or is this actual true news? I feel like I’ve been holding my breath each week for the past 6 months. Watching as my department unravels into a volcano of destruction. Everyone is on edge. All managers are snippy. You can tell they know something is up. It’s definitely not the same morale as just a few months ago. No one chats on teams. Every second matters. Not the members, only the time because time means more and more and that means more money for the greedy hands at the top.

According to NJ WARN Notice the layoffs were supposed to happen today for 71 people. If it hasn't happened today (4/23/2025), Optum could end up giving extra weeks of severance pay.
https://www.nj.gov/labor/assets/PDFs/WARN/2025_WARN_Notice_Archive.pdf

I search in google "nj warn notice law"

"Consequences of Non-Compliance:
Severance Pay Penalty:
If the employer fails to provide the required 90-day notice, they must pay an additional four weeks of severance pay to each affected employee. "

"The NJ WARN Act, formally known as the Millville Dallas Airmotive Plant Job Loss Notification Act, requires New Jersey employers with 100 or more employees to provide 90 days' advance notice to employees, the state, and local governments before a mass layoff, plant closing, or transfer of operations. This notice must include details about the layoff, including the number of employees affected and the effective date. Additionally, the act mandates severance pay of at least one week's pay per year of service for affected employees, even if the employer provides timely notice. "

They’re dragging it out to see who will be the last ones standing. They probably hope most of us get frustrated and abandon ship so they dont have to pay unemployment.

Still waiting on lay off date from Landmark. The waiting is pretty disrespectful toward staff.

It was indeed supposed to be this Thursday. In a meeting today I was told there is a good chance it'll be moved to next Thursday. They'll make a final decision tomorrow. The packages haven't been signed off on yet by finance.

The event usually starts on thursday. Depending on the volume of bloodletting it may span a few days and sill over to friday and the following week. In past years there have been layoffs every other thursday for a few months but been a while since that happened. All depends on the desperation of the "leadership" to save their skin at the expense of others. Just how the ecosystem works. Culling a ton of VP and dir levels etc would help the bottom line with no impact on the operation but that not gonna happen. Ego over logic

They did go off date in November/December of last year right? Or was that a fever-dream?

I would say no. They are always done on Thursdays. My contacts have told me that this Thursday remains in place.
