Vote with your feet. If you don't like working for NOV, if you think its that bad, then you can always leave. No one is forced to work here, there are other places out there - its up to you and if you choose to stay, but still don't like it then you only have yourself to blame! Personally - how bad is it really? and is the grass really that green on the other side?
Plenty of overtime for the lads that are staying , limousines are booked and ready, smashing fook out of the overtime makes my balls feel all moist.
I believe NOV have re-introduced a form of taxi to work scheme,but just for those working overtime at weekends?

I understand we have to make cutbacks it is inevitable given the lack of work.But as we have no oilfield work why do we still have so many indirect staff unaffected by redundancy supporting this area.

FACT, NOV, yes, I said NOV and not Mono, has a very healthy order book. Despite the fact that many of you are trying desperately to help us lose customers we are still very well thought of in the market, get a reality check and the personal comments really only stand to confirm that NOV needs to get rid of some of the bad apples in the business.
You are correct in saying that the whole of the industry is suffering. Not just NOV but worldwide.
The problem we have is that yet AGAUN it's the people on the shop floor who are suffering by losing money and losing their jobs yet in Manchester NOV nobody in admin or management is affected.....yet again. And what are the odds you are one of them?
There are some crazy and very ignorant people making comments on here. Didn’t anyone listen and take on board what has been announced? Oil is suffering and not just for us in Manchester, but for the rest of NOV and the rest of the world. This situation has nothing to do with individuals or the company – it’s just fact out there in the oil world. We need to consider the effects of comments made on here to our business in the outside world and the effects on the individuals that have had the very nasty comments said about them. These comments and minds don’t belong in our company – shame on those involved!
