Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Who is responsible for employee anxiety?

How can leadership at top level sleep well after giving sleepless nights to thousand of employees over this weekend of fear to get laid off! Who is responsible for mental health disturbance, stress and anxiety of employees waiting to know about their fate from last few months!
If leadership is taking accountability of this , arent they the first to be laid off? What kind of corporate politics and torture is this from well reputed Brand?!
Customers and God is Watching all this and this Will hit badly sooner or later!

@mnv current leader in GT. To my knowledge I am safe though seriously considering taking my talents elsewhere given the casual cruelty of this operation and lack of faith in ELT’s ability to correct the culture and work product. That said, getting rid of EW was a strong step forward for the entire company.

The answer is that they don’t give a cr-p about us. To them we are just disposable cannon fodder. Fte or etw it’s all the same to them. Remember that when you put that plate on your car or work that weekend. There is no loyalty. It is a transactional relationship. There is no we.. once you come to terms with that you will sleep better.think of this as just another mc job.

I really have a few questions and I think they do it intentionally to make mental torture!
Why on earth JD sends an email a few days before new year emphasizing layoffs? Couldn't it wait till Jan 3??

Why on earth you send an email on Thursday to all departments saying about layoffs on Friday? Some companies were done with layoffs and some are not targeted on Friday or next week. Why not sending this email to only those that are affected and not causing disturbance to entire company?

Leader here: we haven’t slept well for months. This fu---d up execution, our anxiety and yours, is on JD and HR. I’ve never seen corporate cruelty like this.

Here is a shock.. a multi billion dollar IS corporation doesn’t care about you. They are literally using the employees to gain massive financial sums and will fire anyone at any time if they think it will make more profits for the share holders and leadership.. is this something new? I swear I have seen like 50 movies about this..

Nike is a public company. So they want their profits but what about the cost of employees health. This company has been far worst the most horrible people company to work for. Sure you get perks but is that supposed to replace male bad company behavior?

If the board wanted real change they would let go of the executives apology for the last years of bad profits and actually make some changes that change how Nike is as a culture and the consumers they can reach with a diverse perspective and female inclusive decisions.

I’m sorry for the anxiety and understand it but it’s a job. Not a family. I hope none of you have a swoosh tattoo or caption your posts with #swooshlife.

Leadership must be worried about their next stock bonus options and better compensation! No care for employees! Investors are given much importance than own employees!
