Fortune: JD says remote work ‘doesn’t work’ for bosses, young workers, or ‘spontaneity’

Well it was fun while it lasted :-/

If everything we do is being tracked then is it paranoia?? Think about it

Everything we do is being tracked. From when we badge in to if we’re moving our mouse or using our keyboard. The paranoia here is intense. They’re now enforcing the 3x per week and who knows what will happen to people that have violations? Wouldn’t surprise me if they take badge swipes into account when they calculate your bonus next year.

1910 called, it wants their CEO back.....

speaking of days of yore, Henry Ford eloquently summed up why seeking input from people who are resistant to change is completely useless.
'If I had asked people what they wanted, they'd have asked for faster horses'

If you want innovation and efficiency, you take advantage of technology. Jamie only wants worker bees that he can control and pay a subpar wage......

They currently run a monthly report which checks if you badged in at least twice a week. Also came from a bank, and middle managers are on another continent. The expectation is to be in the office as early as 7AM whenever they call a meeting.

Honestly would not recommend, the culture is awful here.

Is anyone still fully remote? I received an offer but hesitant on joining since I rather wfh. I come from a bank that’s hybrid but is ok with remote work.
I was told it’s hybrid but all of my team me members and managers are at different locations. So me coming in is 2 hours total commute to sit and work from the desk.

Do you get in trouble if you don’t come into office?

We worked in an office all all our lives not sure why this is such a big deal. We worked from home due to the pandemic prior to this working in office is all we knew. Quit complaining!

He is trying to make people quit instead of paying out severance packages. It's all smoke and mirrors.

I mean, this sounds a little misogynistic:

"He added that allowing women to work from home could 'help' them, given that housekeeping and caregiving disproportionately fall on women’s shoulders. 'Modify your company to help women stay home a little,' Dimon told CNBC."
