Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

People accepting worse options

I have a few colleagues who have accepted significantly lower paid jobs just to get out of here as soon as possible. I believe many more will accept worse jobs because people who have skills get raise in other companies much quicker and progress much sooner. If they stayed at Honeywell they would only become more dissatisfied and more bitter.

I left Honeywell with 50% increase in my base salary and other benefits (it’s a switch from individual contributor to a leadership role). But what I gained the most is my mental sanity after leaving. I don’t know anyone who has compromised (at least 3 more folks) on their salary.

People aren’t leaving Honeywell for worst options. They’re leaving Honeywell for better opportunities, including a higher base. Even if they receive a pay cut with work life balance and actual work hours — who is winning there? To your point, they may also be able to move around the company more. Honeywell holds too many people in their roles when they want to move on. I applaud the individuals who take the leap, even if it’s primarily to just enjoy their lives.

Define worse options?
At least 25 percent of people surveyed say they value remote work more than staying at current salary levels. I would gladly go to a smaller company that offers a flexible schedule for less pay. Currently interviewing looking for a good fit.
Add a relocation package to a cheaper living area and I am gone. It will happen.

Honeywell will be forced to offer similar benefits. Labor market will force it.

Based on the constant churn in president positions I am guessing you have a lot of executive friends
