Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Have you felt the changes?

Do you feel Verizon shifted in a better direction under the new leadership? Do you feel valued? Are you being listened to and counted? Are you being fairly compensated? Are your leaders "in it with you" or using the "Do as I say" motto? I'm just wondering?

As a customer I call in and just get a run around. Different answers, no help, no loyalty, no answers. But my bill is still through the roof! Try making your customers happy Verizon with real customer support and fair pricing. You wouldn't have to trick us as so many posts mention. Give me good service and a reasonable price and you all would make money hand over fist.

Financial corruption has increased under Dan - All the leaders involved in kickbacks are having ideal time. Band 6 and above are all aware of corruption but no one speaks up due fear of losing job. Looks like Dan wants to protect financially corrupts only and lay off others. I’m doing some research and post the names here with evidence.

Left late last year after 20 yrs w/ the company. When I started vz was the best company to work for. Took care of employees, customers and advancement opportunities were endless.

Ever since the Vodafone buyout happened in 2012/2013 it’s been a sinking ship. Less and less executives who worked up through the company, bad ideas (go 90, hum, etc), resources and support gone, outsourced CS, ripping off the customer, micromanaging thru the roof and layoffs every year.

It’s a shame but that’s corporate America these days.

The golden years are long gone. To compete with price slashing, we have to almost give away our product. This leaves less to work with. Though cost cutting has been a theme the past 5 years. But this past year has reached Sprint levels. Do more with less people and money but be happy about leadership's questionable decisions. It is scary the similarities of what Sprint went through before being destroyed and what we are seeing today within. A sad coincidence we added yellow to our colors. On top of all that weight from above, customers are getting worse. Not just with us but everywhere. The entitlement norm and lack of compassion or respect of fellow humans is a crazy strain on workers already looking over their shoulder.

The Red Chair is empty. It needs to be put outside in the trash.

I have to agree with others in this thread. Morale is abysmal, I can see the concern and mild paranoia on everyone's face. Verizon leadership claims to be in it with us, but I find that less than likely.

Definitely MUCH worse. Morale is terrible.

Been here 5 years. It’s totally gotten worse. Undervalued. Feeling trapped in my position with 0 support from above. Perpetually slow stores. All to be blamed for lack of results by those without a clue of the workings of the real world.

I feel the momentum. The pivot. The reframe. The delight. The red chair. The post it notes. Our leadership is the best in the business! So grateful for our world class culture OS and the opportunity to serve our customers and communities with authenticity and purpose.

Its been the same for me. In 20 plus years, things changed quite a bit after Vodafone got out, and we went public. Its when people got sold out to the 3rd world, and the endless layoffs/buyouts started happening, although headcount never really changed. I have never been scared of the layoffs, but I sure miss my friends who weren't as valued. I pretty much dont give a sh-t now. I still work hard, because its what I do, but the love I used to have is long gone. Both the company and this country can go to he-l for all I care.
