Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Operating hours changes...

Obviously there has been ALOT of chatter over the past couple of days about the potential operating hours changes coming in January. I’d love to ask my SM, but am afraid to open a can of worms if I do, since I haven’t heard anything yet. When might we find out? I am a part time shift supervisor and work in a New Jersey store. I am worried about what’s to come. And if we don’t go to RX hours might we still get hours cuts anyway? Please no snarky responses.

Hopefully we’ll find out soon what our store might get. People here say next week, but so far not a word at our store. Surprised news this big can even be kept under wraps.

It would be nice for the front store to close early. Then people could actually be home at a reasonable hour.

The hours are changing slightly
3-7 hours per store - just relax

Can confirm. Pharmacy hours of operation being cut. We were 9-9 weekdays, now it’s 9-8.

Also, part timers hours are not to be cut. However my advice is to be available to meet the needs of the business, be a solid performer and you should have no problem. As far as hours cuts in general, Always expect things to get tighter every year. Every time wages rise hours will be cut. Payroll dollars percent to sales must stay in line Hence the cuts.

Managers and pharmacists asked not to really discuss it openly quiet yet. Not every store will be affected. Some only RX, some both, some coming off 24 hours. No layoffs if that’s what you are worried about. Corporate will make this public mid December with change of hours signing etc.

This really isn’t a horrible idea. Times are different now than when we were extending hours to keep up with the competition.
