Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Major layoffs coming to Optum

Optum and UnitedHealthcare employees beware: a huge layoff is coming very, very soon. End of October. The entire enterprise is under a HUGE cost cutting exercise for US EMPLOYEES ONLY!! Their model does not include India nor Philippines, so those places are safe. This upcoming layoff could be one of the largest the company has ever seen. Get your resumes up to date and current. Be looking.

Bumped from @10wjZZTV-Hmgm for info. If anybody could confirm or deny this, it would be great.

I believe that the direct staff does do the best they can for the members under the circumstances...large caseloads, micromanagement. The company could care less about their employees and the members.

Looking for the truth about optum and UHC's commitment to patients vs. profits for a news story – can anyone help

Optum360 and UHC drastically cut common for salesmen last month, July 2020. I currently work there, but I am looking for other work. The pay per sale is NOT worth them being all over people about petty things. Won't miss it. It was a good company when The Hartford ran it back in 2013 and earlier.

It is now folks everyday a new group new department everyone State side in both Optum and UHC especially technology will be let go and overseas OGS will take your Job and be managed by someone here remotely employed in Minnesota. That is the new business model. No US based full time employees, the company does not want to pay your wages nor your benefits they think the peanuts can do your job. If you doubt it do yourself a favor go directly to your manager or director and ask them if they say its not true get it in writing they will not do it, that was my mistake I asked my director if it was true and he said no and lied to me directly however I FD up and did not get it in writing got a message transcript though.

I am not sure of the full scope of what will happen on 11/6, but Optum Technology will be hit very, very hard, again. Eventually there will be nothing left of what used to be a great technology company. So sad.

To the post about US techs being replaced by offshoring and that Being moved to the new business model was b—s— - would that be about C&S and the recent move to Optum? Management hasn’t said a word but we’re getting fewer and fewer cases, VTO on a daily basis, management in meetings/training all day everyday, etc.

Why do none of you say your department? It's so much less helpful.

Very true.. I was part of this round of layoffs. No warning whatsoever. I was given 2 weeks within the company to try to find a job. For any body that has ever been through the hiring process with UHC knows that 2 weeks is NOT adequate enough time. Also, we were told' There are no open positions' to transfer us to. I'm pretty sure there will be more layoffs by the beginning of the year.

Absolutely true they farmed out all of the US based techs to overseas contractors as of the 24th of October with no regard to any one this should have been a 60 day or 90 day notice however management lied an told folks they were being moved into the current business model when there was no such intent what so ever then as always dropped the hatchet on the last Tuesday of the month and said we know how difficult this is Bull Sh– they only know how many more trillion dollars they are going to make, read the core values for this company they are Bull sh– too.

Thanks. Is this for some grade levels like 28, 29 etc or across the board all departments? With Equian acquisition, is the layoff going to be more to some departments like product engineering or payment integrity?
