Not the company it once was many years ago unfortunately. Upper management says they are transparent but are nothing of the sort, particularly with this last sudden wave of layoffs of some very high performing employees. Morale in our office is at an all time low due to QFC and CI wasting a bunch of time and negatively impacting the customers. Stock price is sky high which is all that matters. Won't stay that way forever though.

Express employee here. Qfc is a complete disaster. We will be losing so many customers. I take calls from just as many older customers who don't use technology, as younger folks who do. So to the customers who have been with us for 20+ years we are sticking the Qfc vendors on. Which they are a complete mess, not even contacting customers for 10 or more days. How is that fast? Plus the estimates are a joke, I've seen them be thousands of dollars off on a regular basis. Where do they get off cheating our customers like this, the real people who pay our checks?

All we do is chase numbers. "If you have the right behavior your numbers will just come together" screw your numbers allstate, I'm here to help the customers!

So sad. I was fortunate that I was able to retire after 30 years, earlier this year. Saw the potential "slaughter" coming with the ramp up of QFC. I had planned to retire in early 2017 anyway. I feel so bad for those loyal employees that not only got laid off, but we're not treated fairly either. I had many prior coworkers that were affected by these layoffs.

Where did Shapiro come from? He is changing things as if we were a Progessive or Geico. Allstate as we knew it is gone. People getting cut in waves and Allstate does not care..we are no longer people. Good luck to all.

Allstate has not cared about their employees since Jerry Choate left shortly after we went public. It seems the more profitable the company is the worse they treat their employees.

Hi all, so so sorry to hear about the layoffs. I'm a business reporter at the Chicago Tribune and I'm working to write a story on the layoffs. The company hasn't yet responded with information, and I'd love to be able to tell your stories. Please email me if you'd like to talk. amarotti@chicagotribune.com. Thanks.

I'm still feeling the aftershocks of what has been dubbed The Flag Day Massacre. I was not affected by the first wave. To say that I'm grateful is an understatement. But I feel so guilty because I survived. I feel like I was in a war and saw some of my buddies get blown up...and I survived. I'm struggling to find the rhyme and reason...so far, I can't.

When I was first hired, I could not believe I worked for such a great company. Christmas parties, picnics that included softball games, the day after Thanksgiving was a given and even half day birthdays...everyone worked till 12 on their birthday and went home with a full days pay. Kick-off meetings were held in fancy hotels with brunch served and everyone was dressed to the 9's. To come from that, a company that cared so deeply about their employees, to a production line of numbers instead of people makes me sad. I don't even recognize this overly micromanaged sterile company that it is today. I feel so sorry for my fellow coworkers across the nation who were affected by the onslaught. I know they will be better off when all is said and done, but my heart is broken.

The thing to do is to try to stay positive. I will once I stop crying.

Yes it seems to make sense now based on people left over they are either health problems or close to retirement why pay severance

What I find ironic is the continuous badging for jobs well done by our MCO Leader....Really, I mean Seriously? You know what you can do with your badges--- You know what you can do with your badges.

Same in Capital/RVA. Anyone who handled full time drive ins,the newer hires including 5 yr employees, long term employees(35-40 yrs), anyone within 2 years of retirement. Some employeed that could retire based on age were left. I guess the reasoning was , why pay them a year of severance when they will probably leave soon anyway. we lost a dispatcher, a DE, multiple adjusters.

For a company that prides themselves on offering exceptional service to our customers, we sure got the wrong end of the stick. Good hands? Hardly, they just stretched those hands out far and dropped us like a dead cat.

A customer asked me today if her premiums would go down since Allstate is cutting all their overhead costs. I wanted to tell her "don't count on it"

How many of you are going to take the severance package ? I am just wondering if anyone is going to file suit against them ? Not that It would do any good but It make cause a PR nightmare for them!!

It would be nice to see what the rationale was for the layoffs. Our market hired 9 adjusters within the last 2 years and 6 of the least tenured were let go but then an 18 yr and 25 yr employee also. It is almost like they put names in a hat and drew them out. I feel fortunate that I am still employed but do not look forward to cleaning up the QFC mess.

What's next for us. We are a skeleton crew now out In Texas. They should have let this pilot program QFC go at least a year then checked the numbers and made a decision . We lost $760 million 1st quarter 2017 due to hail in Texas. Last year $680 million first quarter. Shops and customers hate QFC.

"They said no more layoffs at the end of conference call"

Another lie , at one time they may have been honest , but there comes a point and time you have to come the rational it's a matter of time till all adjusters a gone and on the occasions they require appraiser they will hire independents . After they eliminate appraisers and dispatchers , there will be very little need for as many claim services leaders , re inspectors . Watch your backs , the gutting of Allstate isn't over

In the NW we lost all dispatchers, great people that do great work gone just like that. Very sad day for all of us. I get to stay for now and feel terrible for all of my co-workers that received the bad news, I wish all of them the absolute best and hope they get a better opportunity with an employer that truly appreciates their employees. Very sad day indeed.

Half of the auto dept here in Pa layed off today. They did it on a conference call and gave no reasons why they chose who they did. 30 years and not even the courtesy of a face to face meeting. Upper management are absolute cowards starting with Shapiro. I actually feel just as bad for the people that are left, what a miserable existence they have ahead.
