Remember folks, if it's a warn notice, you have 90 days to look for a job. If you wait out the 90 days and then officially released, go apply for unemployment even with severance you can apply (and receive) unemployment. Some people I worked with when all of this happened with a warn notice began working for another company and collected 2 checks (one from Sabre and one from their new employer).

If you hate the company why don't you leave? It's easy and if you are a good professional finding a different job should be easy...

@SpankyMyMenke

Basically they keep us employed but simply notify us and ask us to leave to get past the WARN Act which basically affords 90 day advance notice.

Brilliant! I can't wait to mic drop my sh--ty laptop! I hope I get Robyn.

@CrankyMenke Sabre no longer does lump sum payout. You would be on regular payroll for your 30 or 60 days, THEN you will receive your severance ( one week pay for each year worked, capped at 26 weeks, plus remaining accrued PTO time, or minus used PTO that you haven't accrued) as "paychecks" every two weeks until that is gone. Then you go on unemployment.

@SpankyMyMenke

Does that mean we'll get our severance checks on the spot or do we have to wait 30/60 days ?

Just want to take my money and run. Hate this company with a passion.

@StankOnMyMenke, in the many many layoffs we have had in just the last few years, usually it goes like this:

*HR books all the conference rooms (this might change because it's such a giveaway).

*You have an early morning 1:1 with your manager in one of those rooms but there will be an HR person there too.

*Your manager will basically read from a script (HR person is there to make sure nothing is off script) and you will need to sign some papers saying you won't sue, etc. if you want severance pay.

*Then you are free to go with 30 or 60 days to find something else at Sabre but you won't find anything because you will probably be blacklisted and marked as non-rehire-able within the company.

*You take your packet with copies of everything, and can leave.

It's going to be a long - short week. Does Sabre do individual meetings or is it more like TI where they corralled us all into a conference room together ?

Sounds like in a couple weeks, it will be a lot easier locating a parking spot near the stairs in the parking garage. Stay tune. menkeGate is just beginning!,

Managers, HR, Contributors etc. are all human being with families and bills to pay...it's a difficult time for all. It's tough for those who are asked to leave and it's tough for those who get to stay. Sabre is a company just like many others and we are just a number...But regardless, I will try to be kind and understand of my colleagues in these difficult times and I hope for the same.

I beg all of you to share your stories on Glassdoor. Don't enable Sabre to continue the hire/fire mentaltiy.

Take 5 minutes and help prevent another person from making the same mistake.

Wow so anyone hoping for extra pay due to WARN Act are out of luck as you'll be notified in July and last day will be September. 90 days advance notice.

I suspect if you find alternative employment before September then severance is gone and probably pto payout.

So many unmarketable old timers are about to get the hammer that I would be shocked if someone doesn't go postal in all that heat.

I'll be WFH until the time comes. 😋

July is just the first round of layoffs with 20-30% layoffs company wide. Notices go out middle of July to those impacted, you know all the leaders got to be wined, dined, and enjoy Las Vegas at TTX so the lists of names were reviewed there. This round of layoffs are effective end of September. Then there will be "quiet" layoffs monthly to keep the scope of reductions out of the newspapers, since all targeted are high salary and it doesn't matter what project, department, impact you have, it is the salary & benefits making the decision. I say class action suit against age discrimination should be investigated by people laid off. The largest round of layoffs will occur end of year. Happy holidays to the Sabre employees. The plan is to layoff employees off, then offer them contractor positions saving Sabre the costs of salary and benefits on the books. YankmyMenke is just a part of the decision makers. The Sabre board should be investigated on hiring and firing practices being encouraged across Sabre. Watch how Sabre's India office grows and all others get reduced. Isn't this what Trump advised he would act upon? Too bad someone in this company doesn't have a contact or two with the government or labor board.

Ehat no one talks about is the reverse racism that exists in Sabre. I was strong armed into hiring a certain race by HR despite better native Texan candidates. No one Director or above is promoted unless they have a certain skintone or curry proclivity.

I Hope they get rid of the VP of Sales. Arrogant and tries to lead by creating an atmosphere of fear. He is completely unapproachable and despised by everyone in his team. No one is inspired by him, just afraid of his wrath. Everyone knows how petty he is. Unfortunately so do our carriers.

AS is going to be impacted the worst and much more than other BUs.

Remote employees also at high risk.

Heard this from my VP. He is scared too.

Like $9 million. Sound good.

Better deal than this $1 million ($6 million stock option)

Put $100 reward in perspective. Cost same of all hands town hall meeting in 2 hours time per person. Stability is quick for solve and cheap! Should have done long time ago.

And now think... how much value is he adding comparing to i.e. P&T employees he is going to layoff.... If CEO does not feel ownership of the company other employees are going to follow the same...

Don't be so jealous. This is normal:

Stop complaining. It's like everyone forgot about the $100 reward. Don't be so ungrateful. You're paid to do you job not to complain. If you don't like your job then quit.

Troll on thelayoff... laughable since the point here is to share information which like it or not; may be different than the candy coated news you want to read.

The list will be revealed soon when Boremaster hands out pink slips.

Nobody has claimed to have "the list" but some of us have friends in HR who have shared the numbers.

Just move on... Sabre is a hire to fire workplace and has had such a reputation since 2014.

HR doesn't give a rats a-- about you. But stop dwelling and jump before the gates open. Market is hot right now in DFW but I assume that will dry up soon as we hit fall.
