Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

We are not keeping up

I am a tech 4 with Honeywell Aerospace and it's literally the worst corporation that I have ever worked for and I have worked for a few. You hear the stories of the hay day when Honeywell was a pleasure and a big deal to work for. I can assure you that those days are long gone. We build sh-- now that quite frankly I wouldn't sell to my enemy. Honeywell has completely lost its ability to keep up with modern business models and it is noticeable within seconds of entering any Aerospace building nationwide. On top of no longer making logical decisions Honeywell now hires whomever with no protocol or any kind of skill aptitude testing. Those of us that are educated and have credentials to do what we do are now surrounded by employees that honestly Taco Bell wouldn't hire. No offense to Taco Bell but this is what we see everyday and I can't see it getting any worse. Honeywell Aerospace has hit bottom and selling it off in the fall will probably not only be better for Honeywell investors but for us as employees as well. If you work for prosperous corporation with over 100 yrs of growth we as employees should at least be able to afford our own health insurance every year. You can blame government but the truth remains that what once was no longer is. Good luck world. Stay away from Honeywell aerospace until they either get their sh-- together or sell it to someone who cares.

I had 18 positive years followed by 14 years of pain. The good times went bad very quickly. I am guessing that you must have retired some time ago.

then you should leave. I had 30 plus positive years with this company and think very highly of the people who have tough jobs to do to continue to grow it

Respectfully a retiree.

Innovation has died in the entire company. No funding. No morale. No new products of real note. No increasing sales.

Both posters are 100% correct. At honeyhell, the tail wags the dog and what I mean by that is, the primary focus is creating shareholder value. We hear this at every clown hall. Shareholder value and revenue. That's it. It's NEVER build the best products, or be on the forefront of innovation or bringing something totally new to the market. We are told to do whatever it takes to make the company earn more revenue, even if that means putting customers at the bottom of the barrel, which we frequently do.

They hire the people they can pay the least to, not the most qualified. College kids, h1b visas or 3rd party contract employees are the norm now here. It's almost rare to find someone who has been in the company longer than 25 years because of most of them have either left or been laid off due to their age. What you're left with are younger, inexperienced workers and temporary employees. Did I mention the benefits get worse each year? We don't even have dental insurance. Dental insurance. Honeywell can't afford to offer dental insurance. You gotta be kidding me.

I agree. I too have worked for other big companies and Honeywell is the worst. This is the only big company i have worked for without a profit sharing benefit. Saving money to appease share holders is the only thing important while destroying the workforce.
