To the person that said the positions being eliminated are useless, let me tell you something. I have worked at Walmart and Sam's over 30 years. And while my position is the Accounting office I have helped in every area when needed. All of them! I have saved the company assets by finding errors, I have saved cashier jobs by finding their mistakes, I have always took pride in my job. I have gone above and beyond to make this company great! If you think the positions being eliminated are useless you just wait till your on the block. I am sure though you are one of the ones that slide in, cause chaos and leave. Don't put down those of that are hurt by this...in the end you will be counted as useless as we are!!!
With what they are doing in Sam's Clubs, Costco is going to taken them down. It will be well deserved. You can't cut them to the bone and expect them to survive. People path to shop there and get good service. Not anymore!!!!
Amazon is going to KILL wal mart to, and I can't wait to sit back and watch it!!!!!

Just visited Sam's board on this website. It is indeed on fire with messages being posted almost every few minutes. They are doing a major reorg in stores and they are laying off cash office people.
Given the number of stores, this will be massive.
Worked for 29 plus years with the company. Held just about every position in the club. The company has forgotten the foundation the company was made from when Sam Walton started the company. Take care of your associates and they will take care of your business. Money is the root of all evil and the truth per say is in the pudding. The company is greedy.

all acct offices have been brought down to 20-28 hrs. majority have 28. divided between 2 assoc. 12 for one and 16 for the other. the robot takes over. marketing is prob next followed by recv and a couple other useless positions.
