I don’t take anyone serious in regional product leadership it’s a mess all the time. How many times where the blueberry and raspberries be shipped to stores with NOF barcodes. Putting 7 out of 10 varieties of a line on sale. Shipping out holiday items with the wrong UPC on them. Not keeping track of the UNFI bid for product size changes or communications on long term OOS or why items have been discontinued. I love getting cornered by a customer only to tell them that I don’t have the answer and basically nobody at regional cares enough to let us know what’s going on about items.

The reason that SSS (and SSIs before them) were forced to audit everything all the time is because the regional idiots changed prices 10 times a day in some cases and often never bothered to proofread their own promotions. There were too many cooks in the kitchen and it looks like nothing's changed. As long as there are a dozen versions of that crappy 1980s era database built for Harry's Farmers Market and there are a dozen regional bureaucracies along with the big disorderly excuse machine in Austin augmented by all these PR people and executives' ex-girlfriends, wives and/or boyfriends and/or college roommates who were working for whatever company Mackey bought in the 90s, nothing will ever improve.

Hey, SYR0cSQ-ifo: Ha ha...I live on the Space Coast (no WFM here). It's good to know that several thousand of my neighbors have been inventing everything space-related and earning big money to act as if they're commuting to the space center to engineer fake launches. In other words, you have no bloody idea what you're talking about.

So SSS is going to have to audit thousands of items only working 20 hours a week plus weight audits and regular tag audits? Plus tag printing and helping the teams print out things in Slaw because regional did a piss poor job training them.On top of that the bombardment of computer related questions. SSS just gets better all the time and they will probably end up laying us all off anyway good luck to them when that happens.

Regional made the decision. The SSS have to audit every price change on the Sale change.

If you knew how many different systems and the way they interact and impact one another you'd understand the magnitude of the task at hand. Amazon is s tech company but they aren't miracle works. It will taken time to understand and build out replacements.

The SSSs took down the network today because they audited too much. Nice going guys.

Literally everything is wrong with our current systems and processes. We are using outdated software, we have a poor network infrastructure, and rely on excel macros where web apps should be used. The fact that we don't have self check out is ridiculous. We are the only food retailer this size that doesn't use auto-replenishment. I know change will come, but they really need to clean house and deploy modern systems (and infrastructure) if we are going to succeed. Except ChefTec...ChefTec is a modern marvel that we should all be happy to use. It's like working in the kitchen of the future.
