This is apparently going to be a major house cleaning. Those who will remain on top already know that they are safe in the new org.
The ne'er do well Norseman has ties to no one except a few in the company and has no respect for anyone who has been there for any length of time. He wants you out so that he can have a clean sheet of paper.
His history is not good and it is something of a surprise that he was picked to run Verizon at all. He has neither the education nor telecom chops to do the job. While he has lots of "en-too-ziazm" and wears "5-yee" on his sleeve, but he's faking it all. Just like Lowell the one trick pony.
It would be interesting to hear what previous predecessor CEO's and COO's think of events at Verizon of late.
Fortunately, there are still legacy engineers, marketeers, and financiers to keep the network, customers connected and money in the till.
Longterm though, the jury is out. The nontelecom board and institutional shareholders who live off of the dividend will regret not picking John Straton. I think that Lowell hated him and was jealous of Straton because John knew the whole business, was a man's man, and the 'V-team' actually followed his lead.
Good luck to those who remain. God help you.
