So many people are posting, myself included, getting all worked up... But the more I read, the more I feel like this might not be happening after all.
Is there one piece of info we can point to and say it confirms there is actually going to be a buyout? Just one?
I'll feel like c-ap if it turns out I got all worked up over nothing.
Just on a director call who confirmed this with multiple dates but specifics will be out Monday
I don't know who 'gotdasboot' refers to, but the 3 items specified below for sure has been verified in official correspondence. I won't say any more but it is not rumor at all. Some orgs will indeed get this.

I just got word they are buying me out after 31 years at Verizon. I am sick to my stomach. It is all over.

There was information posted about a webinar on September 27th regarding forced early retirement. But it had names and numbers so the admins removed it.
I'm no longer at Verizon, but I read these post. That place is no longer the company I started with. It is all about the money and doing the employees any kind of way. Just try to get a package and in the meantime if you need to continue to work. Put resume out on INDEED or DICE (if you have an IT background) and GO!!! Stay prayerful so you won't get worked up. I think it's terrible what this company has done to their employees. But then again, it's happening everywhere.

My Dir said the buyout has been changed to a Buyin. All employees will give back the 50 shares to Buyin your job. The the shares will be redistributed to roughly 3000 candidates with +30 years as a one time boast of $100k to their 401k. These employees will then be RIFed with 8 weeks of pay. A 2nd buyin will also happen this time in 2019 - You heard it hear first. Good luck to all!
