I believe you will see GBS get nuked. (that’s essentially outsourcing, consulting, and erp projects). It encompasses most of IBM India. (approx 120k worth of heads). Will IBM roll some of those head under GTS. Of course, but they will also roll some GTS heads under GBS. Remember IBM has a history of stuffing the spin-off with unwanted heads. Now factor in the fortune 250-500 enterprise strategy, and you can see where we are going. Will IBM keep some consulting around the strategic initiatives. SURE but that isn’t that many heads. Will Bain take manufacturing of HW (Power, dasd, etc etc) Most likely. Will IBM keep IP, SW, as a service, security and most likely Z due to zero competition Sure as it’s profitable. NET NET you can see the hand writing on the wall This is Ginni’s swan song. Sell the legacy/low profit portions of IBM, and get that nice parachute Oh by the way, the sell off pays for a major portion of the Redhat purchase
