Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Does this mean no severance?

Does liquidation mean that those of us who stayed (and will stay) here to the bitter end will get no severance?

Severance has been suspended because Leena needs the bonus money for hair extensions and a trip to Disney World.

Did you ask someone from HR?

If their answer was “ I don’t know” why would expect an answer to be provided by people posting on an anonymous layoff forum?

The OP demonstrates another brilliant up and coming mindset

Rather than actively seeking better employment, I'm just going to wait this out for a NON GUARANTEED AND / OR NON REQUIRED severance to compensate me for my stupidity

When it goes to chapter 7 there will be no severance. There is no requirement in the federal law for severance pay. Severance pay is a matter of agreement between an employer and an employee (or the employee's representative)

I love how people continue to beat a dead horse.

Whether you feel you’re entitled or not,

Severance is not required regardless of the circumstance(s)

concentrate on things you can control and stop stressing about things you cannot
