Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

There are multiple different posts about Wireline and FieldTech layoffs/EISP. Any truth to these or just a bunch of rumors going around?

An eisp is offered to entice the older workers to retire. Usually $2200 for every year of service and $50,000 lump sum. Sometimes they will add time to your service and age (3 and 3 for example) to help some get to the magic 75 number...which is the number required to retire with full benefits. Years of service plus age must equal 75, but there are specifics which the union can provide to you....for example: 60 years old and 15 years with the company or 65 years old and ten years with the company are acceptable, however 62 years old with 13 years with the company won’t cut it, even though it totals 75. It has to fall between the parameters on the chart. As stated earlier, the union can provide this info to you.

Wireline/field techs can’t get laid off. There are many rumors of an eisp though....and no two are the same. I believe one is coming in 2019, but don’t know when.
