Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

How many more?

How many more positions can Sam's cut before clubs are unable to function properly anymore? Just wondering how far they'll go...

Since managers and a team leader are in charge of interviews they have no clue what they are doing. Were they trained correctly or do they give a damn? The experience in my club was awful and embarrassing. The managers keep dropping the ball and then blame each other.

Sams is done. They will dump all their available monies in cap x projects to paint a pig, but it will not trick the customer. Sams is on their way out in a few years.

It’s all about efficiency. Thats it. Overnights to days and block scheduling across the floor makes perfect sense. They will have better handle on schedules and maintaining the “budget” for the store. One way to push out the tenure associates if you can’t adapt to the new changes then “bye” is basically what they are saying. Anyone who works overnights does “overnights” for a reason. You bring it to days how many will you lose? Go to block scheduling and you eliminate the ones who have gotten used to that good ole comfy schedule and a manager accommodating them. With the new point system about to be announced will damn sure weed out anyone with attendance issues QUICK. The Sam’s Club Now store is a prime example of the direction they are going. They didn’t open that store for sh--s and giggles.

Less people with jobs means less people shopping which means less sales. Cant shop with no money.

They are trying to figure out how to cut all long term partners working overnight, and on sales floor.

It’s not a matter of whether more will be cut it’s what will they evolve to and are you willing to adapt to the new roles offered.

They're trying to downsize because the store will be changing. It's not going to be this big membership club later. They're trying to jump ahead and become some self sufficient technology ran store, but like everything else, they don't think things through enough. They get an idea and jump on it without thinking. We're all their guinea pigs.
