There’s no chance that they’ll publically state “Boy did we screw up. We’re going to go back to what we were doing before. We really don’t know what we were thinking. And oh yeah, we’re sorry for the disruption to our valued employees and customers.”

No, they’ll slowly but surely over the next 10-20 years continue to add employees until they end up like they were five years ago. Then they’ll find some new magic potion to pour down the stockholder’s throats and they’ll be at it again.

Even if this was true, all the new blood that have been working the horrible shifts will continue working the horrible shifts until they have 15-20 years in. And then when UP decides to act on some new initiative years from now they will have to bump into a new craft working horrible shifts. Ahhhh the life of a railroad employee. Missing practically everything in your personal life all to have this retirement that everyone has put on a pedestal. How many employees retire happy from UP? I'd really like to know. A lot of people have so many health problems from being over worked they don't even make it to retirement because UP has abused them so badly.

Uh.... the stock is not an all time high genius it was $230 before the last split in 2014 going to $110. Know what your talking about. Even then I'm willing to bet the buy backs and letting the shareholders run amuck is part of fritz and the execs plan since their awards from 2015 alone are worth double or almost triple right now since stock prices floated between $60 and $80. Mind you there was that nice $40 spike after contracts finally made it out of 3 years of limbo too.

I dedicated a good portion of my life to these highly educated morally bankrupt suits. They may succeed with thier 2020 plan. Does anyone really believe Wallstreet has all the answers ? Did they have the answers during the real estate bubble?

I would invest my money in BNSF because they are in it to win it. UP can't see the tree's for the forest. I hope they do not call me back. I deserve better than the treatment they give.
