Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

I just see a company that gave up on it’s most valuable resource. Its Employees!

Are we more productive? I don't think so! Are We making more money? No! Are we a growing company? Hell no. All is see behind their plans and policies is giving up on the only thing that made vale and made a difference. The people.

You’re just like a locomotive - an expensive necessary evil that gets a job done. If they could figure out a way to make a buck without the locomotive or you, they’d dump both in a second.

Up has always viewed thier ranks as a necessary liability. Never an asset.

The proof is in thier natural contempt towards you.

This is old news. Everyone has either left or is trying to leave UP

Finally waking up? You are not an asset, but a liability–a walking lawsuit waiting to happen.

I would assume this style of leadership goes back, at least, 20 years. So it is not new. However, it just got progressively worse as time marched on.

You do have value. Maybe we just need to work on our resumes and attempt to diversify our skill sets. Better to prepare for the worse. Might come in handy sooner than expected.
