Anybody believe this stuff? We’ve been talking to Google for years. They don’t really need us - they are potentially one of our biggest threats, in all honesty.

I would have probably signed up for a voluntary layoff and shared all the business knowledge I have (yes, there’s a lot of it) generously as long as the company needed me to. However, that changed when the severance package was cut. You get what you pay for

No respect for that man. I understand he wants to make his investment money back, but at the expense of losing long-term knowledgable employees. Keep letting us older employees go and leaving the younger recent college grads who have no dedicated work ethics
Next round of career transition is soon. Hold on tightly.

It is all a dog and pony show. The key takes from this article is that the company plans to remove some lower level functions from the NJ office and we know what this means. Back in late 90s early 2000s we had almost 10k people and now we should be on the sub 4k range. They will try to make the company as lean as possible. I remember them saying exactly the a same things 2 years ago about Microsoft. They just want to talk the big game to try to put more value to the brand name. From what I heard out data is quite outdated/inaccurate and no BigData or Data Analystics will fix that. Garbage in Garbage out.
