Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Sales have been dropping lately

I din't think it was possible - this is Walmart after all, nothing this company does has so far deterred shoppers from frequenting our store - and yet it's happening right now.

There were slowdowns before, but this is longer lasting than that. Should we worry? Has this happened to other locations? Are they still open if it did?

People are not shopping at Walmart for a few reasons

  1. Stores not staffed correctly, most customers cannot get help
  1. Management does not care about fixing issues, just getting their money and meeting their numbers at all costs, even breaking ethics codes
  1. Treat their employees as nothing, can be replaced without a cost, which is wrong cause you will end up with bad workers.
  1. Morale at most stores is horrible and only going down.
  1. Basic supplies are always out
  1. Two faced company, says one thing does the opposite
  1. Raises are broken, all the older associates don't get a raise because of how many years as the newer ones catch up
  1. No focus on customer service, people sit for 20+ minutes waiting to get things unlocked or helped

Customer are leaving Walmart stores that are being remodeled because they losing their patience and comfort because items are not where they were previously. Also the elimination of popular items is part of the problem. Other items include the way Walmart is forcing their great value brand on the customers.

Again, the two stores in my town must be be magical then, because virtually NONE of the stuff I've been reading on here over the past 1 + years has come to pass at either one. —I'm not denying there are company / nation wide problems happening, but other than the co lay offs of last year, everything's peachy where I'm at ~

The more that people shop online the slower the stores will be. Online sales are increasing about 45% every quarter and with the rule of 72 will double anout every 17 months. It was at 4% of total revenue about last August and by February of 2020 should be about 8%. That is eight percent less revenue in the stores. Buckle up it will get slower in the stores.
